Working hard in P1B
3rd Oct 2025
To prepare the children for the longer days in P1B we visited our school canteen. Monica very kindly, took time out of her busy day to speak to all the primary 1 classes. The kitchen staff are delighted that some primary 1 children are enjoying dinners so much they want seconds! 😀
The children have all settled brilliantly to the longer days. In class, we have been using our daily visual timetable to prepare children for this transition. The children in P1B sequenced the daily schedule by using mathetical language next, then etc.
Fit Minds coach Ronan and his helper came on Tuesday for the P1 High 5 Healthy Bodies and Mind programme. The activities were fun-filled and encouraged good team work skills.
For Literacy and World Around Us tasks we have been been working on our Nursery Rhyme Little Bo Peep. We dressed up and acted out the rhyme. Can you find the missing sheep in our class?
During our manipulative carousel activities the children had to paint Little Bo Peep's sheep. They used dabbing sponges. When the paint has dried out we are going to add different textures to our sheep during play using cotton wool balls, wool and scrunched up paper.
In Numeracy one of the areas we have been working on this week is exploring and recognising patterns. We sorted plain and pattern socks and made girl/boy pattern
