Winter Activities in Primary 1 ❄️☕

23rd Jan 2026

Primary 1 pupils enjoyed a cosy hot chocolate treat as part of their learning about winter and dressing warmly. The children talked about how cold weather feels and why it is important to wear hats, scarves, gloves and coats to stay warm. Wrapped up in their winter clothes, they loved sipping their hot chocolate while learning how to look after themselves in chilly weather. It was a fun and tasty way to explore how to stay safe and comfortable during winter!

Take a look at Primary 1's beautiful winter artwork! The children created beautiful paintings of melting snowmen, learning how to mix colours and use different fabrica to show shape and texture.

In other areas of learning, the class has been working hard on their Jolly Phonics sounds and practising sounding out words. We also enjoyed a visit to the library, where the children chose books and listened carefully to a story.

Our school celebrated Catholic Schools Week. Primary 1 visited the Chapel to light candles and to say prayers. We remember that God is with us in our school every day.
