Caterpillars - Butterflies 🐛🦋

Our Caterpillars journey has come to an end.
Over the last number of weeks our children have been watching our caterpillars crawl, eat and grow from tiny little caterpillars to very big caterpillars! Before crawling right to the top of the cup and attaching onto the lid and hanging upside down and becoming crystallised. This is where their new life begins. After 2 weeks we finally had butterflies! We have watched them dry their wings and begin to learn how to fly and today we finally let them free off into the wild- although some of the butterflies needed more convincing to leave than others! One even landing itself on our feet!!
The children have absolutely loved learning all about the life cycle of caterpillars but watching it happen before their eyes was the best thing and they have really enjoyed it!! 🐛🦋
